Please check out the Proposed Bylaw Changes below. We will be voting on them at the general meeting (please see the invitation above). If you have questions, feel free to contact our parliamentarian, Louise Chumley at dellchum300@yahoo.com:

Change 1:  The addition of an Executive Board VP position;

Reasoning:  Would reflect the way the Board is currently working  as desired by the last few Board of Directors.

Article V - Officers

Currently; The officers of the organization shall be: President, President-elect, four Vice Presidents, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian, all of whom shall be elected annually except the President and Parliamentarian.

Change (5) to Fifth Vice-President

 ADD(5) Fifth Vice President shall be Vice-President, social; coordinating all committees dealing with social events and special interests of the Alliance.

Note - Article V; Section 3 numbering after < (5)Fifth Vice President> would need to be changed starting with Recording secretary which would become (6) thru the Parliamentarian which would be # (8).

 DUES CHANGE:

Section 2.

Add - c. currently nothing

Proposed change :  c. Seniors 65 and older and widows will pay discounted dues of  $25.

Reasoning:  We only have a few members at this level who are retired, often on fixed income and many have served as officers, presidents and this would be a nice thing to offer for their continued support of our organization.

CULINARY CAPERS 2008

cc2

CULINARY CAPERS started the year with a comfort menu for a SOUPER SUPPER and PANINI PARTY. The dinner was introduced with  Baked Brie and  Dippers. The main meal involved a “make it yourself” format for the Panini Sandwiches using some delicious additions including Olive Tapenade , Basil Pesto and artichoke hearts. The soups were stars themselves. Both Tuscan Vegetable Soup and Souper Bowl Soup can have meat added to make into complete dinners. The Marinated Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar on Biscotti added a beautiful finish to a great meal.

The Culinary Capers interest group involves FOOD, FUN & FELLOWSHIP.  Each month we enjoy a themed dinner of fantastic pre-determined  recipes prepared for each dinner group. The dinner groups are composed of 8 to 16 people, small enough to allow you to make new friends but large enough to provide a wonderful shared meal.  Each month the groups will change according to who can attend that month. YOU CAN JOIN IN ANY MONTH. Dinners are usually planned for the second Friday and Saturday of the month to allow for “call” schedules.cc1

After you sign-up, you will be contacted each month to see if you can participate. You will also receive  the guidelines and future calendar via email. We are looking forward  to welcoming many new members into the group. This would also be a nice way for YOU to invite a new Medical member into our community. You could invite them to join you at a dinner and offer to prepare their dish.
